Expedia's 24 Hour Sale - Possible BRG Opportunities

Expedia's 24 Hour sale is back - these are usually great times to snatch up free rooms, but you will have to act fast - you must make your screenshots and claim on TR TODAY.

The pickings are slim, but here are two possible contenders - GOOD ones, at that. I can't say how successful these will be, because by the time I find out, it will be too late. But, I have a good feeling about these - especially the Wingate. Here they are:

RAMADA MALL OF AMERICA - Minneapolis area, MN (20% off today only)

WINGATE BY WYNDHAM - Orlando, Florida (30% off today only)

In addition to the BRG opportunities, there are several good deals on hotels for purchase. Today might be a good day to book travel in places where BRGs are impossible due to always-equal rates or lack of Triprewards properties. Here's a few good deals that caught our eye (see below the list for instructions to save $20 per night on these rates):

Castle Maile Sky Court / Castle Hokele Suites (Honolulu, HI): Rates between $80 - $90.

The Westin Hotel LAX (Los Angeles, CA). 50% off today, rates around $114.00.

Custom Hotel (El Segundo, CA). 40% off today, rates around $83.00.

Knott's Berry Farm Hotel (Anaheim, CA). 30% off today, rates around $70.00.

Red Roof Inn ORD (Chicago, IL). 20% off today, rates around $40.00.

Comfort Inn Niagara Falls. 15% off today, rates around $50.00.

The deals go on and on, but this is what struck me as good from a cursory glance. Deals are best (40-50%) in obscure locations and large cities, with the weakest discounts in Canada (5-10%).

Couple these with a $20 per night discount (MUST use a Mastercard to book) using Expedia.com coupon code MCAHOTEL20 (enter the code in the box after pricing out your hotel choice), it will reflect immediately. With this coupon code, some of these hotels are almost free. Your stay must be completed by April 30, 2008 to use this code.

Just a note that for some dates I checked, Ramada's site is also showing the same 20% discount rate as expedia! :(

It looks like Ramada was quick to match this one. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
