Here's a hotel located along US 78 between Memphis, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama. It's around an hour's drive from Memphis or two hour's from Birmingham. The hotel is within 11 miles of the Elvis Presley Birthplace. Hawaii Hotel Mistake! $32/night Outrigger Ala Moana Resort "Waikiki Suite" (reg. $320)

EDIT: As of 1:32 PM, Orbitz has pulled this rate. Congrats to any who were able to book it.

I spotted this great mistake rate earlier today while searching Kayak for hotels in Honolulu.

I first thought this was just a slow seasonal rate, but then I discovered that the Ala Moana is a 4 star property, and the suite was going for hundreds of dollars less than other more plain room types. Upon further examination, I discovered that the price of this room on every other day is $320, whereas it is a mere $32.00 now. The catch? The mistake only hit one date: January 19th. And it must be for double occupancy or greater.

You can find the cheap rate on Orbitz, HotelClub, and Cheaptickets only.

Conveniently located 2 miles from the State Capitol on Interstate 70 at Exit 356 - I-470 1/2 mile west. This Super 8 property is close to the Topeka Zoo, Kansas Museum of History, many restaurants, a casino, and West Ridge Mall.

Los Angeles / Hawthorne, California- Ramada Plaza Hotel LAX

Here's a pretty decent Ramada I've stayed at once before that I feel deserves more credit than is given by some previous guests on Tripadvisor. While the hotel is a bit older, it provided me with everything I needed and was clean and comfortable. It's very convenient to Los Angeles International Airport - only 3 miles away. The 405 and 105 freeways are near the hotel, but no traffic noise was heard.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Days Inn Pittsburgh International Airport

Here's another Pittsburgh BRG (seems to be the city of the day), this one being contributed by reader Kyle. This one takes advantage of the fact that Expedia doesn't charge extra person fees for occupancy over two. In the past, Wyndham used to deny any occupancy over two, even if Expedia did not charge extra person fees, because Expedia clearly says "These rates are based on double occupancy". According to Kyle, things may have changed. Kyle tells us that this one is a simple and easy BRG approval. The rates are easily visible by searching Kayak.

I'm not sure that this one will work for you. The room description on Expedia raises some flags. Read on below for why that is. This hotel is located in the heart of the Oakland medical and educational district, within a short walk of many area hospitals, and is within easy reach of Carnagie Mellon, the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne, and Carlow. The rate difference can easily be seen by searching Kayak.

Anaheim, CA Deal-Get A Non-Wyndham Hotel for Free!

Just noticed a great deal for anyone wanting a hotel in Anaheim, CA for this Friday, December 19th. You can get it for free (or at the very least, very cheap!) I just booked this for a friend for free with no problem!

Hotelclub.net has a $16 room rate for the Anaheim Plaza Hotel & Suites (directly across the street from Disneyland) for that night- 12/19. It may be a rate mistake, who knows. It's for a Family Suite, but works only when you book single occupancy.

If you go to www.hotelclub.net/US50 you can still acquire 20 free "member dollars" to pay for the room in it's entirety! (The $50 holiday promotion ended, so now they just offer $20 for signing up) Your total for this room after tax will be $18, so you can get it for free, or at least get it for $18 otherwise. And by the way, it's free to join! Just be sure after booking to print out your voucher to bring to the hotel with you. It's all explained on your final booking page.

They should really call this hotel the Providence Ramada! - the property lies only 5 miles east of Downtown. You're just on the other side of the border in Massachusetts, about 15 minutes from the TF Green International Airport, just off I-195.

FREE Car Rental: One Weekend Day free with Hertz now through 3/31

My friend Rick over at FrugalTravelGuy announced this on his blog today.

Hertz is offering one weekend day FREE at selected US locations using PC#127595 . All you have to pay are taxes and fees. The code works for one day rentals, unlike other free weekend day offers that require you to rent for the entire weekend, Friday to Monday. The terms and conditions exclude New York City and the entire states of Florida and Hawaii, and are limited to participating locations only.

I checked a few cities out, and while the code works for places like Los Angeles and Memphis, it doesn't work for others, like Chicago and Minneapolis. Test your city and see if any locations near you are participating.

The rate may appear as higher, but click through, and it will change your rate for you.

If your city does not work, it will provide a message saying "not all requirements have been met".

Limit one rental per person per month. Enjoy.
