For those of you who participated in the Expedia refer-a-friend promotion, that deal has now died. Not only did it die, but they took it upon themselves to cancel ALL vouchers previously issued, and replace them with coupons that require an almost 500 DOLLAR SPEND on a hotel room reservation.
Flyertalk is abuzz with hatred for Expedia’s UK counterpart, which seems to favor screwing customers over over any variety of customer satisfaction.
If you have been affected, write to Expedia.co.uk and demand that you be issued a coupon in line with the terms and conditions you agreed with. There is talk of a class-action lawsuit. People have legitimately referred others to use Expedia’s service, and to what avail? Expedia has robbed thousands of people of what is likely tens of thousands of dollars.
Shame on you, Expedia.
