Expedia is giving us the run around on this booking. I booked it with my wife's account and then made a BRG claim. We got a email from expedia immediately saying the difference has been refunded to my wife's account. But no $50 coupon yet. Customer service said it has been posted into her account and she can see it at her end, but we don't see it in her account. I know coupons post almost immediately. I made another call, same reply but with addition - 'why don't you call expedia to make your next booking and we will apply the coupon?'
I wanted to speak to a supervisor but gave up after a long wait. Apparently snowstorm in the eastern US is causing the long wait to reach customer service. Anyone faced this type of coupon run around? BTW, the first customer service rep told me she can only gave a $25 coupon but after I insisted on my right to get $50 coupon, she budged.
All I can say is, persistence usually will pay off, and you did the right thing by insisting on the $50 coupon. After all, there is no mention of any $25 "compromise" in the Expedia BRG.
I have heard of numerous accounts where Expedia has attempted to bargain with us (with that same $25 offer), especially when the rate difference is very small. Never give up until you receive EVERYTHING you're entitled to! They may be playing games (on occasion) to see who will simply give up out of frustration.
