Inauguration Day!!! Lanham, Maryland (Washington DC Area) - Days Inn Lanham

I spotted this one earlier today while searching for Inauguration Day hotels. This hotel is about to suffer immensely (sorry in advance). Inauguration Day sees the crappiest of hotels asking upwards of $500 per night for the privilege of being in town to see the President-Elect become the President. This one is sure to disappear very quickly. This hotel is located in the Maryland suburb of Lanham, right off of the Capital Beltway.

Note that this is a handicapped-accessible room. If you claim this hotel and are awarded a free night, and you yourself are not handicapped, please call the hotel to assign you to a standard room so that handicapped individuals will have access to this room instead.

Orlando, Florida - Wingate by Wyndham Orlando International Airport

This is a beautiful property, all around. I've stayed here a couple of times before, and was happy to read a recent email from reader George alerting me that it's back for the BRG. This hotel is just minutes from Orlando International, served by a frequent (and free!) shuttle. Wingate by Wyndhams are, in my opinion, the best chain in the Wyndham family (yes, even including Wyndham Hotels and Resorts!). Wingates operate on an "all-inclusive" basis, featuring more free amenities than you can shake a stick at, including but not limited to: free internet, free hot breakfast (think eggs and sausage), free long distance calling, and most feature swimming pools (like this one does).

This excellent BRG opportunity is easily visible by searching Kayak.

Expedia "Special Rate Hotel" Taxes - Most Have Already Been Paid! (But Read On)

One of the things to note about the Expedia Special Rate Hotels is the fact that ALL TAXES are prepaid and the stay is settled BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE HOTEL.

Expedia has paid the hotel for your room, long before you arrive, at the rate that Expedia and the hotel mutually agreed upon. Even if you pay $0.01 for your room, the hotel still receives their negotiated rate through Expedia. The hotel is NOT being punished through the Expedia BRG. This is Expedia selling its own pre-purchased hotel inventory, and does not involve the individual hotel at all. The hotel will have no reason to be angry that you saved money. They receive their negotiated rate, in full - even if you file your BRG claim, nothing changes on their end. They've been paid long before you even thought to book the room!

While Expedia.com charges all taxes upon booking you may be required to pay the following at check-in/out:

-Resort Fees
-Energy Surcharges
-Parking Fees
-Breakfast Fees

Other than these miscellaneous items, ALL taxes are included in Expedia's rate quote!
