Expedia "Tweaks" it's BRG Policy - Possibly accepting all "English-Language" International Websites

Some "fine-tuning" to Expedia's BRG policy may give us additional websites to search when attempting to locate the lower hotel rate. These are the International websites previously declared invalid for comparison with Expedia's rates. This could be great news for us!

Most of you are aware of the "U.S.-Based Only" clause in the terms and conditions that has limited us to searching mostly the major travel sites (plus Easyclicktravel, Hotelclub, and some other lesser-knowns.) But now, as discussed in this recent blog article, Expedia (apparently) is allowing any "English-Language" website to be fair game! Should this be the case, many websites such as Venere.com, Easytobook.com, Agoda, Otel.com, and countless others that are Internationally-based, including the recently-banned Booking.com, may be used for finding the lowest rate.

While browsing over Expedia's terms and conditions, you will still notice the "U.S-Based Only" reference has been left untouched in clause #1, however, if you jump down to clause #4, the following has been added to their policy:

"The Best Price Guarantee applies only to prices both advertised and available to the general public on an English-language website."

So as you can see, Expedia may be easing up somewhat on their rules regarding which sites may or may not be used for comparison in their Guarantee. Many of you will likely want to put this latest revelation to the test! We won't likely use these sites UNTIL we receive some confirmation from you folks that these websites are actually delivering results - a.k.a. approvals.

We will be relying on you, our readers, to e-mail us or post a comment when attempting claims using these "new" sites in the coming days. Let us know if success is achieved and we'll go from there! As always, best of luck with your claims!

I have gotten 6 $50.00 coupons in the past 45 days. This new rule should make it easier to get more in the next calendar month. Thanks for the heads up.

Another "tweak" I just noticed on Expedia, that I have not seen posted here is that the $50 coupon is now for up to $50. You used to have to book a room over $50. Now it only has to be $25 and up. This makes the room free instead of the few pennies for taxes and fees they have to charge. This new "tweak" I feel makes it better for many with lower priced rooms.

BRG Rules #2 This single-use coupon is valid for a discount of up to $50 towards the new booking on Expedia.com of either: (A) one (1) room at an Expedia® Special Rate (“ESR”) hotel; or (B) one (1) air plus ESR hotel package booking. The cost of the booking (excluding taxes and fees) must be at least $25.
