Megabus Adds New Routes in Iowa and Pennsylvania

Megabus has announced two new routes to their low-cost bus network this afternoon. Beginning May 4, you'll be able to travel from New York to Pittsburgh, via State College, or from Chicago to Des Moines, via Iowa City, for as little as $1.00 each way. They are currently accepting bookings on these routes. All Megabus service features free wifi on board, and convenient e-ticketing.

It's worth noting that the new routes still don't connect the Midwest and Eastern Megabus networks, but the addition of Pittsburgh means that you can shave around 60 miles off of their service gap, heading there from Cleveland instead of Buffalo. Still, if you plan well enough in advance, it's still possible to travel as far as Memphis to Boston for as little as $32 - $4.00 in fare plus your "gap ticket" (fares of which on Greyhound start at $28).
