A fair number of e-mails have been received by us from readers who've had their Expedia accounts closed or "held up for review" due to what (I'm guessing) Expedia perceives as abusive practices with their Best Price Guarantee. I'm hoping these cases are isolated incidences, but still, this is something you'll want to be aware of. I can only assume that any account being flagged is done so for a variety of potential reasons:
- Do you frequently cancel the original reservation that earned you the $50 coupon? (key word here is frequently)
- Are you exceeding the 3 approved BRG claims you're entitled to - per account, per month?
- Do you have multiple accounts for the same individual?
So folks, please be cautious with the Expedia BRG. While not every detail is clearly explained within their T&C's, we must remember to exercise good judgement when filing claims. This holds particularly true for those who file claims frequently. Vary how you treat each claim. Are you one of those people who answers "yes" to one or more of the questions above? If so, you may wish to alter your filing patterns to avoid any hassles with Expedia. The following is a quote from the Expedia Guarantee T&C's:
"Expedia reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify or discontinue the Best Price Guarantee or to restrict its availability to any person, at any time, for any or no reason, and without prior notice or liability to you."
Now, that's a very powerful statement! But don't be deterred by all this doom and gloom ... just use good common sense and all should be okay! Most accounts won't ever see this happen, but the potential does exist. Be good to Expedia - as they've been very good to us! We want their generous Expedia BRG to be around for a very, very long time! Best of luck with your claims, everyone!

I am sorry to say that your blog is partly responsible for this. You should stop posting the BRGs. If anyone wants to make the claims, let them find the BRGs themselves.
Hasibul,
An account being suspended/reviewed by Expedia has nothing to do with the BRG Blog. We just make the public aware of a few random BRG opportunities that are available at any particular time. How they use this information and how they handle their claims is entirely up to them.
As a long-time reader of this blog, I would have to think that BRG opportunities are what bring you here. So why complain about the very thing you seek from us?
