After 7 years of providing our readers with free and discount hotel room opportunities, and inviting you into the world of best rate guarantees, the decision has been made to permanently close the Best Rate Guarantee Blog effective January 1, 2015.

This website began as a hobby of a twenty-something Canadian (yours truly) with an avid desire to travel on the cheap, and share those opportunities with others.  As life became busier, I invited a guest blogger - David from California - to become a permanent partner.  I managed the behind-the-scenes marketing and administration, while he took over managing content.  As my career developed and the demands of family life increased as I entered my thirties, I no longer had as much time to devote to the blog, so I decided to sell ownership of the blog to David, who would receive a 75% share for the day-to-day operations, while I would continue to receive a 25% share in royalties.

At the end of 2014, David and I decided to mutually end our business relationship - no hard feelings - and close the blog permanently.  As much as I'd like to continue blogging in his absence, I am in a very different season of life than I was in 2008, and it would be impossible for me to continue to provide content to you, our readers, moving forward.

I thank each and every one of you for your diligent readership over the years, and for making the blog such a success!  It's been a good run, and we are happy to have you tag along for the ride.  We hope you've learned a lot, and had plenty of (free) good night's rest over the years.  THANK YOU - without you, the blog would have been nothing.
